GitHub adds automated code coverage generation with AI

GitHub has introduced a new option in repository Code Quality settings to generate coverage workflows automatically using artificial intelligence. The system opens a pull request for review before merging. The feature is currently available in public preview for GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Team users on github.com.

GitHub Spark closes for new users and apps

GitHub has announced the upcoming retirement of GitHub Spark, with new user signups and app creation ending on 4 August 2026. Existing users have until 31 August 2026 to export their creations. Meanwhile, the underlying inference service shut down earlier on 30 July 2026.
