Microsoft has released MAI-Code-1.1-Flash in GitHub Copilot, bringing native vision support, efficiency gains, and a 73% lower list price than its predecessor. The small-tier coding model is available now for free, student, and paid subscribers across various developer environments, with administrator action required for enterprise plans.
GitHub announced that Lite and Balanced effort levels for Copilot code review are generally available on 7 August 2026. These new levels replace the previous Low and Medium options from the public preview. They are included in multiple subscription plans and bring organisation-wide default settings.
