Why use LitSource instead of manually searching PubMed and Crossref when writing biomedical papers?
The useful starting point is often a sentence in a draft, rather than a search query. LitSource helps turn that sentence into candidate papers, then lets the writer inspect available evidence. The second task is different: checking whether references in an existing draft match scholarly records, including DOI and metadata conflicts. Keeping both tasks together reduces the switching between source finding and reference checking. It does not replace reading the original paper: an authentic reference can still be a poor citation for a particular claim.
