Why We Built MiniMax H3 Max

When we started working on MiniMax H3 Max, we kept noticing the same problem with AI video creation: too much effort was going into trying to write the perfect first prompt.

A creator would describe a scene in detail, generate a video, and then discover that the camera moved differently than expected, an action happened at the wrong time, or the overall mood simply did not match the original idea.

The obvious response is to make the prompt longer and more detailed. But we began to think there was another answer: make iteration faster instead.

Rather than treating every generation like a finished render, we wanted the workflow to feel more like creative prototyping:

Start with an idea. Generate a scene. See what worked and what did not. Change one thing. Generate again.

That idea shaped how we approached MiniMax H3 Max.

The product focuses on text-to-video and image-to-video creation, with controls for motion, camera direction, visual style, and native audio. But the part we find most interesting is not any single feature. It is what happens when creators can move between an idea and the next version quickly.

This kind of workflow can be useful for social content, advertising concepts, product visuals, cinematic experiments, and early-stage story ideas. The first generation does not always need to be the final asset. Sometimes its most valuable job is simply showing you what to change next.

Building MiniMax H3 Max changed how we think about prompting as well. Instead of asking users to predict every possible failure before they generate, we increasingly see prompting as a conversation between the creator and the output.

Generate. Review. Adjust. Repeat.

We are excited to see what creators build with that approach, and we are especially interested in feedback about where AI video workflows still feel slower or more complicated than they should.
